Letters in a Red Cup
95/365
6:52pm
How clever is that title?
Finally, warm-toned bath pictures without having to fire the flash. After all the letters were named, slammed and crammed in on top of a filled-to-the-rim (with Brim) with water, Charlie proudly presented his work and proclaimed, "I made CHAW-WE!! I did it!" He then proceeded to dump the work on his head and start over in his typical and endearing Rinse, Lather, Repeat modus operadi.

We got a heel clickin' surprise around two this afternoon: John came home early! He's been heading off to work before the kids wake up and getting home after they're in bed a lot lately. John & Jack spent a leisurely couple hours playing and hanging out, and I documented about ten minutes in about sixty frames.

Before the Whoosh, Crowd Roar
92/365
10:39am
You're bored to tears about me going on about this cheap-o lens, aren't you? Well, Heidi can vouch for me that the 6,000 foot open gym space provided one window door about 30 feet from Charlie making a dunk, and I got a clear action shot without a flash. Hot diggity dog!

Murky

Second verse, same as the first. Fantastic Plastic at f/1.8, 1/200s, ISO 400. Since it has such a crazy shallow depth of field, I think the train looks like it is pulling through thick fog. Keeping with that pea soup line of thinking, I switched it to B&W and added film grain in post-production. I promise not to continue taking pictures of toys. Stick with me here.

This is the work of the Fantastic Plastic. I have a lot to learn, but this was taken at f/1.8 at 1/20s on an extremely dark and dreary day. Seriously, 1/20s. Not tack sharp, but there's a lot of light in the picture for the speed I'm used to in a dim house.
And I'll say it again for the record: Jack hates to be photographed. Hates it. So, I can get away with shots like this because he thinks I'm shooting the spiny oyster he's meticulously illustrating. Head on and I'm busted. Side angle and I win.....of course, I suppose I'm winning with a lie so maybe the win is negated. Rats.

The books say to shoot flowers from a low spot, one that is not often observed. I'm such a rule breaker.
