This is the work of the Fantastic Plastic. I have a lot to learn, but this was taken at f/1.8 at 1/20s on an extremely dark and dreary day. Seriously, 1/20s. Not tack sharp, but there's a lot of light in the picture for the speed I'm used to in a dim house.
And I'll say it again for the record: Jack hates to be photographed. Hates it. So, I can get away with shots like this because he thinks I'm shooting the spiny oyster he's meticulously illustrating. Head on and I'm busted. Side angle and I win.....of course, I suppose I'm winning with a lie so maybe the win is negated. Rats.
I like how deep in thought he looks as he is drawing. It is such a sweet moment to capture.
